This course is designed to give students at UF an in-depth look at international agriculture. The 2007 course took place between the Spring and Summer semesters when students traveled to the country of Honduras for 10 days. The Honduras trip included a variety of cropping systems for the students to see firsthand, including an african plam plantation and processing plant, banana plantation and packaging unit, beef cattle and dairy farm, aquaculture teaching unit, black pepper and ranbutan farm, biological reserve and much more.

The pilot travel course of May 2006 has been molded into a Tropical Crop Production class taught this Spring of 2007. The course holds regular class meetings throughout the semester, with a 10 day long trip to Honduras during Spring Break from March 9th - 18th.

AGR 5277C is intended for graduate students, but there will be an undergraduate section available upon authorization by the instructor. All students wishing to take part in the course will need to participate in an application and interview process with the instructor before admitted.
